CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Contract

Who is CH2M HILL Plateau Remediation Company (CHPRC)?

CH2M HILL Plateau Remediation Company (CHPRC) is the prime contractor for the safe, environmental cleanup of the Central Plateau and River Corridor at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Hanford Site in southeast Washington State.

Our work on this 10-year contract includes reducing risks on the Hanford Site by removing some of DOE's highest hazard waste streams and facilities, from cleaning up 270 billion gallons of contaminated groundwater plumes before they reach the Columbia River, to removing highly radioactive "sludge", to decommissioning and demolishing the Plutonium Finishing Plant that once produced plutonium for the nation's defense.

CHPRC's work at Hanford is driven by one mission - removing hazards away from the Columbia River and reducing Hanford's active area of cleanup to the site's 75 square-mile Central Plateau.

Why should you work for CHPRC?

At CHPRC, we're a family of people excited to solve tough challenges that have a positive impact in our community. We're always looking for like-minded people to join the CHPRC family. Explore why we believe CHPRC is the place to be.

Tri-Cities, Washington

The Tri-Cities is a growing metropolitan area in southeastern Washington State. There are over 300 days of sunshine with plenty of indoor and outdoor activities to enjoy. The Tri-Cities is popular for recreational activities and sports, with ten golf courses, professional sports teams, and it is also known as the "Heart of Washington Wine Country."

Community Involvement

CHPRC employees live, work and raise families in the communities where we do business. CHPRC considers it the company's responsibility to devote resources to improving the quality of life in these communities.

CHPRC employees know great things happen when people work together. By joining forces, we help meet community needs with our dollars and our volunteerism. CHPRC community outreach efforts are focused on three main areas - health, economic development and STEM educations. Just this year, CHPRC has participated in:

  • Friends of Badger Mountain: $100,000 donation towards our commitment to help purchase land, expand trails and create trail monuments to honor Hanford Workers
  • Habitat for Humanity: CHPRC volunteers donated more than 100 hours as they measured, sawed and hammered to help build homes for those in our community
  • Special Olympics of Washington State: CHPRC Polar Plunge team raised more than $8,400 and jumped into the Columbia River in 35 degree temperatures and overcast skies

Internships and Cooperative Learning

CHPRC offers internship opportunities through ANR Group Inc. (a Student Intern Program) that run 8-10 weeks during the summer months, and cooperative learning opportunities (co-op) extended to Washington State University Tri-Cities and Columbia Basin College students who aspire to gain paid professional work experience while completing their academic program.
